Winter Quarter
Pre-School PE
Olivia Cronin of Cronin Athletics will instruct this class. Curriculum will focus on nutrition, cooperation, locomotor movement, while focusing on manipulatives such as throwing, catching, and kicking. Keeping kids active and moving while learning and having fun creates a love for physical fitness and movement. Students will learn about shapes, colors, and numbers all while being active. A portion of the class will involve open play as it is one of the best ways for kids to learn at this developmental age and interact socially. A typical class will involve, warm up, stretching, locomotor movement, conditioning, open play, and structured lesson activity. Olivia earned her Bachelor's degree from Pacific Lutheran University majoring in Physical Education where she also received her teaching certificate. She has her Master's Degree in Creative Arts in Education from Lesley University. Prior to Cronin Athletics, Olivia taught P.E. for 12 years in the Tahoma School District. Fall Quarter units will be a mix of soccer, locomotor movements, safe pathways of traveling, spatial awareness, cooperation, parachute games, and throwing activities.
